Learning about The HOly Eucharist
As Disciples, We Pray
Each time we meet, we open our session with prayer.
Each time we meet, we open our session with prayer.
Because we were not able to hold our regularly scheduled session for Part 3 of our formation series, the formation team will expand the opportunity too (re)learn about our central and most common form of worship, The Holy Eucharist, during two consecutive weekends at regularly scheduled worship times.
We ask you to plan on attending worship at one of those times (Saturday 5 PM, Sunday 8 or 10:30 AM) on March 20 and March 27 to explore with the entire parish just how we worship using "The Word of God" (a.k.a. the liturgy of the Word - March 20) and "The Holy Communion" (a.k.a. the liturgy of the Eucharist - March 27).
Meanwhile, to prepare ourselves for a deeper experience of the "instructed" Eucharists planned for those dates, we ask you to watch the video below. Mother Mary helps us to "make the connections" with the rituals we use and the meanings they convey.

recordings for session 3
Recording of the Instructed Eucharist - Part I - The Word of God as celebrated on Sunday, March 20, 2022 (Third Sunday in Lent) at St. Luke's Church. This video walks the assembly through the first part of "The Holy Eucharist - The Word of God" and include a short lesson on the nature of the vestments worn by the celebrant and other ministers (see below for PDF copy).
Part I ends just before the Offertory begins. The remainder of the Eucharist is explored in Instructed Eucharist - Part II - The Holy Communion.
You can follow the liturgy along using the worship bulletin in the file below.
