INTRODUCTION
Our mission in Christian Formation aims to help the faithful of all ages to grow in both human and Christian maturity by enriching their whole life with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to embrace all the faith dimensions of adult life—for example, understanding and communicating faith, skills needed for personal growth, the experience of family life, relationships, public service, and concern for the common good.
St. Luke's hopes to engage the particular needs and interests of adults in our community by offering a comprehensive and systematic presentation and exploration of the core elements of Christian Catholic faith and practice.
This integration of actual life experience, diverse adult learning needs, the study of Scripture, and the teaching of the Church's tradition help us to create a vibrant learning environment.
As always, we are open to suggestions about offerings and other programming.

the Stevenson School for Ministry
The Stevenson School for Ministry is dedicated to the lifelong learning and discernment processes of all Episcopalians. As a key ministry of the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania in collaboration with the dioceses of Bethlehem, Pittsburgh, Central New York, Maryland, and the Virgin Islands, SSFM seeks to make Christian education and spiritual formation available to all.
Interested In Exploring Lay Ministries?
All Christians are called to love and serve others. For some that takes the form of ordained ministry as an Episcopal Priest or as an Episcopal Deacon. For others there are a variety of ministries of the people in our dioceses, our parishes, or our communities. However, there are a distinctive set of ministries, provided for by our church’s canon law, that require training and licensure by our Bishop (Lay Preacher, Catechist, Lay Pastor, Evangelist, Social Justice Minister). Preparation in the Stevenson School does not obligate the Bishop to grant a license, but rather provides a quality education experience that will form you spiritually and intellectually for the work.
Prerequisites for all Lay Ministry SSFM Certificates:
Be a confirmed communicant in good standing .
